Forgiving Frost

It was December. The first frost. I was in Brownsville, Oregon, and saw a tree named Oakly that is 150 years old. It had lost all of its leaves. My fingers were numb, but fortunately, my hands didn’t start shaking until after this shot. It was worth it! I love the muted tones, the many different textures, and the overlapping of leaves.
